More Than Podcast
Hey friend, welcome to More Than! I am convinced that we all crave something MORE in this life than the ordinary, day to day surviving and striving. I tried both. Didn’t work. In every sphere I have walked, no matter how much or how little a person has, there is always a crave for MORE. For what extends beyond ourselves and past our lifetime. A deep echo that whispers…MORE. MORE of what’s REAL. Genuine. Long-lasting. This podcast is all about how to practically live out a More Than life. A life that makes fingerprints on the world we will inevitably leave behind. Based in Ephesians 3:20, I am promised that God is able to do immeasurably MORE THAN all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us. That promise isn’t just for me, it’s for anyone willing to let Him accomplish that work within. That’s a life I can set my alarm clock to everyday. So join me in the journey, as I live my More Than life. You can live your More Than life too! Xoxo, A

Host, Dr. Angela Walter Hagen, goes in depth of the specific attributes children have that reflect Jesus. By nature, they are humble, approachable, bad liars, and are so dependent. She shares some of her own funny childhood stories that captures the true essence of a child. This is a challenge for all of us to remain childlike! We don’t ever have to outgrow this very nature that is reflective of Christ. But instead embrace it and see how it affects our faith and the way we love and impact the world.

Host, Dr. Angela Walter Hagen, embarks on a 3 part series on childlike faith. She unpacks what childlike faith really is. If the Bible tells us to be like little children to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, how can we? In Part 1, she describes the balance of being like children in the best ways without being naive in the worst ways. God tells us in Corinthians to give up childish ways when we grow up, and yet in Matthew, He’s calling us to be like children. How can we reconcile the two? Let’s gain the gift of seeing children reflective of the face of God, because they are so full of light! We can call ourselves to have this childlike faith that walks us into eternity. That type of faith is the microfiber of living a More Than Life!

Host, Dr. Angela Walter Hagen, has her big sis on the podcast! These sisters laugh hard but discuss the deep matters of what missions look like in this modern world. The U.S.A. is the third largest mission field in the world being sent into to share the good news of Jesus. How does that affect us daily? How do you discern being called to missions overseas? And if you aren’t, do you still have a place in missions? This message is rooted in Matthew 28, that describes how we are ALL called to the Great Commission. What does that mean for your next-door neighbor? Your career? Your local church? As a parent?
Christin Hoca was called to missions at a young age, but that call developed very differently over the years. She is a wealth of knowledge in discerning the voice of God, is a loving wife and a homeschooling mother of 4. Christin got her BA in Psychology and Political Science from Albright College, her Masters in Education from Lancaster Bible University and has her license in K-12 School Counseling. She has found her greatest mission field within the walls of her own home. Listen now to discover how you too are called to missions because it is so much MORE THAN you imagine.

Host, Dr. Angela Walter Hagen, dives even deeper into betrayal. She unpacks the night of the greatest betrayal in history. Jesus was turned in for murder by his closest friend. Denied by his best friend. Mocked and wrongly accused of lies. He gets it, more than anyone. He understands our pain, our mockery, our disappointments and our betrayal. How do we not allow the betrayal to steal our calling? We must follow in His footsteps to not let the pain change the way we love, and the way we pursue our passions.

Host, Dr. Angela Walter Hagen, shares on what is unfortunately a very common occurrence - betrayal. We have all been betrayed, hurt, blindsided or abandoned at some point in our lives. She shares some of the deep betrayals of her heart. And how the enemy almost got her to shut down and close off. Listen to discover how she was able to keep her heart open and focused on the mission God had for her. No one deserves the power to distract you from your calling. We are all called to something, and the enemy of your soul wants nothing more than for you to forfeit that because of the pain you are in. The stakes are too great! You’re calling too important. Don’t let the betrayal distract you from your mission God put you on this earth to complete.

Host, Dr. Angela Walter Hagen, talks about the tendency we all have to please others. Whether we are driven by the need to belong, to be liked, or basic human pride… we all just want to be loved. And that’s a beautiful God built desire in us! But we need to be careful we don’t fill that hole with the fluxing opinions of others. Because if we live by the praises of people, we will die by their criticism. We need to go to the Creator to learn about the creation. Listen to how she finally shifted from the crushing pressure of people, to living to please an audience of ONE. And you can too.
